Our roofing services

Complete roofing services for Melbourne homes

Everything from a single cracked tile through to complete roof restoration, renovation and re-roofing work. We look at the whole roof first, then recommend the work it actually needs - repair where a repair is right, restoration where restoration makes sense, replacement only where it is necessary.

Our approach

The right work for your roof

Not every roofing problem needs the same answer. A cracked tile above a bedroom is a repair. A roof where the pointing has let go along every ridge and the surface has worn back is a restoration. A roof where the tiles themselves are failing needs replacing, and no amount of pointing will change that.

We look at the whole roof - tiles, pointing, bedding, flashings, valleys and gutters - before recommending anything. It means the work you are quoted for is the work the roof needs, not the work we happen to be selling.

Repair Isolated damage

Cracked or slipped tiles, a failed flashing, a leak traced to one point. Fixed on its own, without touching the rest of the roof.

Restore Widespread wear

Pointing gone across the ridges, lichen through the tiles, a tired surface. Cleaned, repaired, repointed and coated as one job.

Replace Beyond restoring

Tiles or sheeting that have reached the end of their life. Stripped and re-roofed rather than patched again.

Our specialism

Complete roof restorations

A restoration brings an ageing or weathered roof back to a stronger, cleaner and better-presented condition. Rather than treating one symptom, it deals with the roof as a whole: what is broken gets replaced, what has failed gets renewed, and the finished surface is sealed where the roof suits a coating.

Not every roof needs every stage. What a restoration includes depends on the condition of your roof, and we will set that out in the quote.

An ageing roof brought back as one job - cleaned, repaired, repointed and coated where it suits. What it includes depends on the roof, and we set that out in the quote.

  • Roof condition assessed and photographed
  • Broken and slipped tiles replaced
  • Pressure cleaned to bare tile
  • Ridge capping re-bedded where needed
  • Repointed with flexible pointing
  • Primed and coated where appropriate
  • Valleys and flashings checked
  • Gutters cleared and site cleaned down
Repairs

Roof repairs done properly

Most people call us because something has gone wrong rather than because they were planning roof work. A stain on a ceiling, tiles on the lawn after a storm, mortar dropping into the gutter. The job is to find what is actually causing it, not to seal over the nearest suspect.

We will tell you honestly whether the repair is a standalone job or a sign that the roof is due for wider work. Both answers are fine - you just need the right one.

What homeowners call us about
Water marks on ceilings Cracked or slipped tiles Crumbling ridge pointing Damage after a storm Ageing roof components Damp in the roof space
Hands working flexible pointing along a ridge, with a Westflex Starpoint bucket beside the work

The work that keeps a tiled roof going

Three services that stand on their own, and that also make up the middle of every restoration we do.

01

Roof repointing

Ridge and hip pointing is what holds the capping down. When the old mortar cracks and lets go, water gets under the capping and the tiles start moving. We cut out what has failed, re-bed the capping where the bedding has gone, and repoint with flexible pointing.

Repointing is often done on its own, and it is also a stage of most restorations.

02

Roof cleaning

Moss, lichen and years of grime hold moisture against the tiles and make a sound roof look neglected. Pressure cleaning takes it back to the tile. It is also the first thing that has to happen before any coating goes on - nothing bonds properly to a dirty roof.

Available on its own where the roof needs nothing more than a clean.

Roof coatings and colour restoration

On roofs that suit it, a primer and two coats of roof membrane seal the surface and reset the colour. It is the stage that makes the difference from the street, and it only goes on once the repairs, repointing and cleaning are done.

Suitability depends on the roof. We will tell you if yours is not a candidate.

More than a quick repair

Some roofs need several things at once. The pointing has gone, two valleys are rusting, the gutters have had it and the whole roof looks tired. Handled as separate call-outs that becomes expensive and drawn out.

A renovation brings the work together as one project, with access set up once, a single scope and one team on site. What it includes depends entirely on what the roof needs.

When restoration is no longer the right answer

There is a point where continuing to repair a roof stops making sense. Tiles that are porous or breaking as they are handled, sheeting that has corroded through, a roof that has been patched so many times there is more repair than roof. At that stage the honest answer is replacement.

We strip the old roof, check and repair the battens, install new sarking, and re-roof in tile or Colorbond. Where a restoration would still do the job, we will say so - replacing a roof that has years left in it is not in your interest.

Not sure what your roof needs?

You do not need to know the difference between bedding and pointing to call us. If the roof is leaking, ageing, damaged, heavily weathered or simply looks overdue for attention, tell us what you have noticed and we will work out the rest.

It depends on whether the problem is isolated or across the whole roof. A few cracked tiles or one failed flashing is a repair. Pointing that has let go along most ridges, widespread lichen and a worn surface point to a restoration. We look at the roof and tell you which one you are dealing with.
Yes, and a lot of our work is exactly that. If the roof only needs a repair, that is what we will quote.
Typically: replacing broken tiles, pressure cleaning, re-bedding capping where the bedding has failed, repointing with flexible pointing, and then priming and coating where the roof suits it. Not every roof needs every stage, so the scope is set out in your quote.
Yes. Both are available as standalone jobs as well as being stages within a restoration.
Yes. Gutter and downpipe repairs and replacement, plus fascia and soffit work. It is usually most efficient to do it while access is already set up for roof work.
Yes, in tile and Colorbond. We strip the old roof, check and repair battens, install new sarking and re-roof. If a restoration would still do the job, we will tell you that instead.
Residential tiled roofs - concrete and terracotta - and Colorbond and metal roofing, plus flat and low-pitch areas.
We work across Melbourne and the surrounding areas. Tell us where the property is and we will confirm we cover you before booking anything.
